How it works

My unique Elizabeth Searle Designs are created in three stages. First I create a hand-drawn pencil image based on your treasured photograph or photographs. I then use digital techniques to add colour and subtle tones. Finally I finish the printed artwork with additional hand-drawn sketching before presenting your print in a quality card mount.

A typical design will take between two and three weeks to complete and deliver, dependent on the time of year and complexity of the work but I will always do my best to accommodate tighter deadlines if I can.

So how does the process work?

  1. Send your photoget in touch via the contact page and send me the photo or photos you’d like me to work from. I prefer to have these photos sent digitally, though I can work from print originals if that isn’t possible. Please note that in order for me to use fine pencil work to create an artwork, your photograph must be high-resolution and high-contrast. 2. I create your artwork – I will create an original hand drawing and bring in subtle colours using digital processes. Once I have created the artwork, I will email you a watermarked version to check and approve, before having it printed and mounted. Artworks can vary in shape depending on the subject, and we will always discuss preferred size and layout before I start work.
  3. Payment – You then pay the pre-agreed price in full, preferably by digital transfer or cheque.
  4. Delivery – Once payment has arrived your artwork will be sent or if you are local we can arrange collection.
